Who is still here from the beginning?

I didn't forget about this place either. I have mixed feelings about how Avatar has developed as an IP/franchise/whatever, but the first film reminded me what's worth caring about and what isn't. This ultimately propelled me to go back to school, and led to some amazing opportunities that I never thought I'd have.

It also challenged my views on love...I put up quite a fight, but I lost in the end.

Haha, so great to see so many familiar folks. I was very involved in the community back in 2010-2011, but dropped off of the forums for the most part because I went off to school. I have lurked occasionally, but never felt like posting. think I was on one of the older forums, Avatar Forums (?), so I created a new account with the same name here on Tree of Souls. I'm not sure how many people remember me, but it's great to see you again.

I now have a degree in Environmental science, I live in Oregon now and I work for the State's Department of Environmental Quality! I work with a bunch of great people to protect the State's water quality. I think my career choice has been influenced by Avatar, so woohoo!

Great to see y'all, hopefully I'll post every once in a while when I have time.

I joined here in 2015 and I did not forget this place. Work-life and college just took over and did lurk here but never made a single post. With the new Avatar out now I felt like coming back and trying to be active in here. The good news is that I graduated college last year with a degree in Graphic Designing though I am still at the same job since living in a small town doesn't have good job prospects and given how things are now, I am thankful to have that job.

Hi guys,
It’s been such a long time - I also joined around 2009 or 2010 the old forum - can’t even remember that - and I can’t remember the email address and exact name I used XD.
My name was written a little differently I believe, but well.
The first movie hugely influenced my life. I can’t wait to see the second one. Didn’t have the time to go yet.

I’m looking forward to read from people I used to talk to - TheSilverStag for example.
And to everyone else:
Hello! :)

still here even though i haven't posted in a hell of a while. life got in the way mostly lol. think i joined at or around whenever the old avatar forum shut down and there was a mass exodus

Hey raiden! Good to see you!

for me life was like, waning interest in the franchise, going to uni, getting a steady job. i just didn't really have much time to keep up w the forum mostly

I've been a ToS member since June 2010 and I lurked the original AF even before that. I used to check in almost every single day, just because I believed in the camaraderie of this community and what people found in it. Well, I confess I stayed off for much of the past year just because I wanted to go in to The Way of Water with zero spoilers or hints. Didn't even let myself watch a trailer. Now, I've finally found time to see it and I think I have a bit of catching up to do on these forums...

I'm back after a long absence. It takes 6.75 years for an ISV to travel from the solar system to Alpha Centauri, or 5 years time from the point of view of the crew. So being away for what seems to me to be about ten years (enough time to return to Earth and then back to Pandora) is kind of appropriate!

Kaltxì! It is good to see you again!

Been a member since march 2010 and never forgot how much of a great place ToS was, so much inspiration and good discussions/art/etc.

Life got in between and Entu gave me back my account i lost login for.

Thank you for keeping this ToS alive!

Hello all!

I used to go by the name The SIlver Stag but later changed it after growing obsessed with the video game, Dark Souls.

It seems like a different lifetime during which I was allowing my experience with Avatar to alter my perceptions of life and society, but still I keep fond memories of my many interactions with the good people of Tree-of-Souls and Avatar-Forums. As I sit here typing this, so many names of so many fine people spring to mind: Eltu, Kestor, Nimwey, Pali Makto, Raiden, Human No More, Mi'niri (Yes I do remember you from Avatar-Forums! XD) Sight Unseen, Empty Glass, Sempu, and countless others, Hell, even iron_jones - that rascal!

I was not even an adult when I first saw Avatar, but a teenager who thought he understood far more than he really did.

If only everybody from those days would return to this thread and offer a greeting.

Yes, it’s been a lifetime, and it speaks volumes about the community to remember each other after so many years!
I’m glad to see so many showing up again!
I believe positive influences, even if they are almost impossible, don’t make them bad influences, but a motivation.

I joined back in April of 2010. I was also on AF for a bit, but this was where i was most of the time. Being on here really lead to talking to a lot of interesting people, making some friends and having a lot of fun. I'm sure a lot of you remember when we all hung out on skype. That skype scene was really something else... crazy times on there for sure. Being part of the community back in the day was definitely a formative time for me.

Don't know whether I'd say that i'm "around" perse. I've gone from being inactive for years and years, to checking in every once in a while, not really posting, just lurking.
