The Browser War.

Let's have a different kind of debate - regarding web browsers!

For the best web browser available, I nominate:

Opera 10.6

Why?

- Opera 10.6 is THE fastest web browser available, even faster than Chrome, as has been shown in several different tests. At some times, it's a HUGE difference, and really makes it worth using.

- Opera 10.6 has all the great features of previous Opera versions, but at the same time no longer have the bloated feeling of version 10 and older. It's clean and efficient, while having all the features you need if you need them. Among these features are:

- AMAZING quick-search feature. You can search anything, with ANY search engine, directly in the address field. It's like a 10x better version of Chrome's system. For example, if I want to search for Neytiri on Youtube, I just write "y Neytiri" in the address field, and it searches Youtube directly. Really, really fast.

- The best right-click menu I have seen in any browser. You can do so much by simply right-clicking on stuff.

- Mouse gestures that actually works good. I cannot live without them anymore.

- Wonderful tab management. Preview tabs, switch between them really fast, and get a long list of recently closed tabs.

- Opera Link to have the same settings history and bookmarks on all your computers - invaluable.

- Automatic translation of any text - just right-click and get it done directly.
Built-in email, RSS, torrent and IRC clients - nothing I use personally, but for the people who feel they need them, they are there.

...the list goes on and on. And as I said before, unlike previous versions, these features does no longer bloat the web browser - they are only visible if you need them.

- Opera 10.6 has an amazing interface, it feels clean and simple, it takes up even less screen space than Chrome, it is easily manageable, and works fast and efficient.

- Amazing community and forum, as well as support.

So - what's YOUR favorite web browser, and why?

I agree. Chrome is simple, light, and fast.

However, Opera is simpler (more minimalistic and show-only-what-you-need UI), lighter (more quick in responding to UI commands), and faster (as have been shown in tests).

I take it that with "Mozilla" you mean Mozilla Firefox?

It ain't much of a debate if you don't explain WHY you think in a certain way. :P

Come on, present your arguments ;)

As someone who has used firefox since the initial release, I'm going to nominate Chrome.

For the first few years firefox was a fast and stable browser. But in the last year or so it seems to have gone way down in overall quality with random unexplained crashes. I've re-installed and made sure it was current version, but it still has problems. Chrome kinda reminds me what firefox used to be and I'm starting to use it more and more often.

Chrome ftw

Firefox 4.

Its... Its...

The, absolute, most beautiful browser ever created. I want it to have my babies...

Firefox 4 looks good, BUT it lacks some of the features of Opera I REALLY like (see my first post). So for now, I'll stick to Opera. ;)

Eltu i have Opera too but i like chrome more :P
Chrome starts faster then opera, chrome consumes less memory, And i love how you can drag tab and drop it where you want ;P

@ Aihwa:

Not really.

1. Mouse gestures
There are FF addons for this, but I find them to be stiff and not really good. Opera's mouse gestures works wonderfully.

2. Adress bar search (as mentioned in the first post of mine) - I have yet to see a FF addon that does this as brilliantly as Opera.

3. Speed. Opera is fast. FAST. In a way FF cannot match.

4. Interface. I find Opera's interface superior to any FF version, or other web browser for that matter.

I also hate anything microsoft - why do I think I use Linux? :D

And sure, FF works. But Opera is so much faster, more stable and contains really, really useful features.

Tymian:
Opera does start a bit slower, but it runs much faster. And the tab-dragging feature is present in Opera 10.6.
