Stop using image shack!

Ok, guys, I know how this sounds, but stoip using image shack, they changed status from free to pay, so now all the pics on all threads on the entire net that were through image shack posted, now you gotta pay those greedy d-bags to see the pics... Sorry for the word, but I can't find other words to discribe this type of crewl greed! In the beginning of 2017, all the pics on the net were visable, now, the pics that were posted using image shack are covered with this: 'PLEAS UPDATE YOUR ACCOUNT TO ENABLE 3RD PARTY HOSTING', and that crap is on every second pic on the net, and most of us, DO NOT have the money to pay, I'm a poor guy, and I certenly do not have spare cash to throw into the toilet, so please, don't use image shack,

I use Imgur, it's free, use that or Photobucket or any other free uploader

Thank You.

I just took a sneak peak at the Wikipedia page and it's been paying since 2014. It's just that back in 2010 and 2012 it was free and people used it without knowing that it would not be free anymore. It took more time for the free images to disappear as it was done on January 1st, 2017, but you couldn't upload new ones without a subscription.

Anyway, old threads are always a good source of broken links, 404 errors and deleted images, no matter which site it is.

Thank You.

^ This resonates with me way more then it should :awesome:

And that passive aggressive 'Thank you' at the end :xD:

But yes I agree, the worst threads are the 'Caption games' and 'Post your HD pictures of e.g. [bob]' - like you can go 200 pages in and still no pictures, and those pages are probably taking up a lot of space on the website/database (whatever).

you can blame the orange-faced oaf in the pale house for some of this jazz, internet taxation rules, net neutrality limitations, new restrictions on free use of public images, pretty much everything related to regular use of the net is being controlled for profit now.

Seems like we should be making some of this profit for ourselves :stare::stare::stare:

It began before Donald Trump even wanted to run for president. It's not because you don't like him that he created all the doom.

So, just throwing it out there since we're talking about image hosting sites: Whenever I see a picture from photobucket, all I see is a "please update your account to enable 3rd party hosting" with a speedometer under it.

i have been having huge issues with my two photobucket accounts disabling all my years of pics posted on various sites, and now these clowns are holding my pics, edits, gifs hostage for $400 a year, what a joke! i am currently trying out postimage.org on a trial basis, good so far.

$400 a year? Are you sure you're on the legit website?

no, it's 'legit' alright, photobucket is now charging ALL of it's accounts $39.95 USD a month for third party hosting, which is what 99% of pb accounts are used for. that works out to $400 USD a year. yeah whatever. i'm mad because they won't let me close my accounts or save any of the edits, other than screen-shotting them all, all download/right click is disabled on gifs, edits, and videos. i hope pb goes out of business over this mess.

well, it's been several pleasing months on postimage.org, my account is around 100+ photos and gifs, plenty of storage space, service is still free and very simple to use, and i'm happy for now. size limitations are understandable for a free service, and 95% of what i post is within the size limits anyhow. very good service! :)
