Some Christians see Avatar as "demonic"

Some fanatical Christians obviously have a problem with Avatar. They call it pagan or even demonic.

Here is a couple of examples:

Avatar advertisement for paganism:

Is Avatar an Illuminati movie? del 1:

Is Avatar an Illuminati movie? del 2:

In the Illuminati videos they even compare the Na`vi to Nephilim, or fallen angels. They also seem to believe that Avatar is a sign of the end being near! They even seem to think that Avatar prepares people to love the Devil!

How can people become so narrowminded and paranoid?

people are bored so they just like to connect dots that really mean nothing. they get into it a bit too much and come to the comclusion that Avatar is demonic or it goes against their religious beliefs etc. some of these articles can be fun to read :D

Ah. Some people were talking on this topic before, I believe.

While I myself am Christian, these guys make absolutely no sense. How they find a compelling, amazing movie the word of the devil is beyond me.

I think this is a great time to say, movies aren't meant for everyone.

I love this kind of stuff. I mean there will be some people who believe this crap, but it's fun to watch them make fools of themselves.

Humans are silly creatures :P

That's a good point. But what do we do if this becomes a mass thought ? Like wow, sooner or later many Christian fanatics will become against AVATAR just cause of a bull-crap like that. Will never happen... as long as SCIENCE lives and prooves what Religion can't.

I'm a Christian too... but I'm not into Religion at all... is just written on my birth papers but I don't give a (what?). :shoop::shoop:

There been some articles in our country too about that, kinda few months ago, but the thing was not for long and they took it out of the papers cause people are gettin' sick about reading and seeing all that... (whaaat ?) :shoop::shoop:

Religion thrives on control. Avatar's message is individualism.

Is it? ^_- I sense a debate thread...

No, Avatar is a secret message by the templar's to brainwash us all to like curry. While this isn't a big change for those who enjoy curry already, the rest of the world is doomed to a curry laced life.

There will always be extremists, theres not much we can do about it but just ignore it and move on. It sad though that it's usually the christians who over react...I.e. the christian church down the street from my school protested across the street of the school entrance holding signs saying "Gays will burn in hell" and "Gays are gods unwanted children" and thensome.

Mmmm... Currys good with rice :awesome:

I respect all religious people, assuming there is equal respect back. The problem I see with a lot of religious and non-religious people is they (generalizing) are all very outspoken and self-promoting. It must have to do with my age and the age of my peers, but I don't think I've ever talked to a atheist about religion, without him or her trying to convince me of something. Anyways, personally, I'm becoming more Buddhist, so I can't see any respect in comparing paganism to the devil.

The guy in the first video clearly had no idea what he was talking about. I myself am a Christian, and stuff like that is really frustrating to watch.

I didn't even watch the other two videos. As soon as I seen the word "Illuminati" I knew what kind of video it would be. I can assure you, no Youtube video talking about anything Illuminati-related is accurate.

Good God, not one of these again...

Those are not genuine Christians, they belong to a lunatic fringe.
THIS^ is exactly the kind of post I want to see in every one of these sorts of threads.

...Btw, I've thought of another smoking-gun rebuttal for real Christians to use against these crazies.

The argument is, "The whole 'worship of Eywa' business is entirely pagan."

As much as it's pretty obvious that Eywa isn't really a god, the short, sweet answer to give instead of explaining all that is, "The Na'vi aren't human. It's impossible for them to be pagan if they aren't part of mankind. What are they pagan of?"

Well... there's always extremists, and then there's those who just want attention... not sure which to file this one under since I didn't want to waste precious minutes looking at some lunatic talking about illuminati :P
