Kaltxì ma frapo,

Phew! Well, hot on the heels of AvatarMeet 2015 and with a lot of Facebook activity in the background, how about AvatarMeet 2016 makes a visit to watch the Cirque du Soleil Avatar show - 'Toruk' for next year's meet up?

The Cirque du Soleil show, that starts touring in November, finds itself in Raleigh, North Carolina, in late June 2016 and it has been heavily suggested that we have a meet up there to watch the show as a clan. We have done some initial research and found that the seats appear to be going pretty fast - even this far out. So we may need to act fast to secure seats for the clan to attend this spectacular show.

What we would like to know is how many people would be interested in attending. So if you could select which option best suits your situation in the poll above that would be very much appreciated, especially if you could respond before Monday 10th August (as this is when we intend contacting the show ticket providers regarding a potential group booking)

Another activity that has been suggested is a visit to Native American reserve, which sounds like a very apt thing to do.

For anyone who would like a bit more information on the Cirque du Soleil Toruk Show follow this link: https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/toruk

Well, lets get the ball rolling. Irayo.

Cool. Well, I think you need to see if twice. Yer know, so you can take in the bits you missed first time around ;)

At the moment, adding together the votes from Facebook and LearnNavi we have about 30 people interested.

Is there anyone else interested in joining the clan to see the Cirque du Soleil Avatar show 'Toruk'? If so, go vote in the poll above. Irayo. :)

I really like this idea for AvatarMeet 2016! Hopefully we can make it happen! I voted YES on the LN forum poll. :)

Also, I do like the suggestion of visiting a Native American reservation. :)

Can say probably - I don't see why not, but I do really appreciate knowing the potential location this far in advance as it makes planning far easier.

Just wanted to drop by with a bit of an update:

I got a reply from the group bookings bloke at the PNC Arena. So I gave him a ring and he said they can hold group booking seats for 1 month from the date of the request.

He said there is a trickle of seats being taken, but gave the impression that group bookings tend to happen closer the event. I did mention January as our normal booking month, but he didn't seem concerned about that. I would say we need to keep an eye on this.

I also asked about folks attending in Cosplay and he said he would enquire with Cirque du Soleil and get back to me.

So there we go. Any thoughts/comments?

I voted "Maybe, depends on money, work, etc." only because of those considerations. For me it isn't so much a matter of not knowing if I want to go or not - I DEFINITELY want to be there! But for me it is more a matter of being able to come up with the money to do it. Things are a little tight right now, and nothing is a guarantee for me ATM. Especially with the way the Canadian dollar has gone in the last year. :/ However, the way things look right now, foreseeably I should be able to attend, but only time will tell. Whether I can physically be there or not, my heart will be there without a doubt. It's just a matter of paper scraps. :P Put me down for a "yes" though if you could ma Alan. ;)

As far as the visit to a native reserve, I am all for that. I would be honored to be in the presence of such knowledgeable, seeing people. The natives of this land are the people who are most in-tuned with the land we live on. I think there could be a lot to be learned from them if they have knowledge to share and impart.

@Wind12, Maybe we should PM allrock to see if we can get him to go to next year's event if there is going to be a visit to a native reserve. I am sure he would enjoy that immensely. :)

Just an added note:

If the booking process isn't usually until January, I should have a better idea of my finances by then. Keeping in mind that things could move fluidly in regards to the ticket situation, but I should have a better idea by the end of December. I just thought I'd add that. :)

Well, we'll have to keep an eye on the seat availability. That might dictate things. But the guy I spoke to didn't seem too concerned about seat availability.

At least we all have fair warning. The ticket prices off the website are between $70 and $140 for a seat. However, with a group booking you can knock 25% off that, which is a huge saving.

Just an update for everyone:

I got a reply from the group ticket sales chappy at the PNC Arena, who enquired regarding people attending in cosplay and he said Cirque du Soleil don't have a problem with people attending as characters from Avatar.

So a result for anyone who would like to do that at the meet up.
