I need to get this out of the way.
I really can't come to this year's meetup. I'm really pissed off that it has to be that way, but I'm trying to successfully complete an exceedingly important step in my life right now, and I just can't spare any time or expense. I'm trying to liquidate most of my physical possessions and move about 90 miles south to finish my degree, and I need every penny I can muster for this; I can't really justify dropping 1k or more on another meetup right now, even though I (unwittingly) created them.
There are a number of things I really would have liked to see in NC, and with what I had in mind for a camping trip, the list only grows. But this really needs to happen if I expect to get anywhere with the things I care about most.
So, I'm sorry if I'm disappointing anybody, but I'm out this year; I have to do this for me.
