I screwed up.

Big time.

I fell behind massively on my college work last semester and I got an extension for March 15th. This time has come and gone, I haven't handed in the first semester's work and now I have missed the deadline for my second semester as well. I'm terrified i'm going to get kicked off the course. Maybe I deserve to be, but it's not that I haven't done any work at all, I just fell behind and struggled badly to catch up.

As usual, for the last 3 weeks I just buried my head in the sand and hoped it would go away, but it didn't - and now i'm in deep trouble.

I'm sick of my attitude. I'm going to go in tomorrow and tell it straight to my tutors, tell them that I was cowardly and foolish and ask, if not beg them for one last chance to prove myself. I'm just really, really worried I pushed it too far this time...

Edit: I'm going to bed now, I hope everything will be ok... :(

take a step back. look at it this way just do the work as it comes or that needs to be done. dont think about failing just do what you need to do. thinking about it will only stress you out and will not do any good.
even if you do fail its not the end of the world, it happens to everyone its normal. you cant always hit a perfect game. just make sure if it does happen that you learn from it.
but im sure u will do fine!! :)

First, what's up dude! :)

Second, I agree with this. Get some perspective. Step back a few, deep breath, and gauge where you need to go and what you need to do. Then, do it.

I have issues getting work done also, I am bad at procrastinating and bad at getting preoccupied very easily. So having these forums to jump to whenever on the web doesnt help LOL!

For me it helps to make somewhat of a daily schedule, for instance, tell yourself that today I must get X done, for me sometimes it is finish up some homework and a bit of studying. I will make myself do everything I list before I go to bed, than if I am up really late I attempt to learn from that mistake and get started earlier. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt LOL.

You can do it ma tsmukan, you can get though this... I know how this must feel, classes and all. Like people said, take a deep breath, take a step back, take a look at the big picture; what are your options? What can you do to get back into the game?

You've got our support ma tsmukan

even if you flunk out... remember, Einstein was a flunk-out too! And Thomas Jefferson never went to any college... and Nikola Tesla died penniless and insane!!!

No matter how bad you screw up, you're in good company :)

I'm in almost the same boat as you man, it sucks. I'm horriblew at procrastinating too :P
But I agree, just step beck and take a deep breath. Then decide what needs to be done and start at the begining. You can do it!!!! *Support five*

Haha, that's a good way of looking at it :P

But yeah, I'm basically gonna repeat what everyone else said. Relax, take a step back, get some perspective, and start fixing it.

And taking responsibility for your actions and being honest is pretty much the best thing you can do about the late work. If it works, awesome. If not, well that sucks, but there really isn't anything you can do about it at this point.

You'll be fine. If getting kicked out of a college course is the worst thing that happens in your life then you are very lucky :P

Good luck... I know first hand how bad procrastination can be... Earlier this week I did a piece of coursework in one day flat, 2 days before the deadline :P

ok, take a deep breath. Talk to your professors. See what you can do to get your grades up. Be honest and definitely make up a schedule (do this essay, research, etc on this day or that day at a specific time). We all have problems with time management. I was a terrible procrastinator when I was in school. I would stay up all night trying to get papers done, etc and I would end up giving my family a hard time because I was stressed. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you. If you are kicked out of the course, there might be a chance for you to retake it again later. :).

^This. A schedule out in the open is best for me. I put it right next to my computer screen so I am constantly reminded to do it instead of surf the web :D

Thanks for the amazing support people, reading these really calmed me down a lot.

I talked to my tutors today and he said he doesn't care about the quality of the work now, it's just a question of getting everything I have done together, documenting it and drawing a line under the whole thing. He said I could still probably scrape a pass on the first two projects and as long as I work really, really hard on the next 8 week project, which accounts for 50% of the marks, I could still come out of the course with a merit.

But a thanks once again for all the brilliant support. You really are a family I can rely on. *Group hug* :)

I am happy to hear that your tutors are willing to work something out. Even though they don't care about the quality of the work I would care about it. Do the best that you can :).

Indeed, Rapunzel. Fkeu'itan: put forth your best effort and show your tutor you were worth being given another chance.

Then: LEARN FROM THIS...or you're doomed to repeat it. (And yes, I speak from personal experience. :( Different circumstances, same lesson.)
