What's the specs of your system?

Well, I won't go into all the nitty-gritty details (unless you want me to) but according to Can You Run It? it falls just underneath the minimum requirements, as I figured. A lot of it has to do with the old and subpar video card.

And I don't have a PS3 or 360 (way behind the times, I know) so I don't see myself playing this in the near future. :\

Thought these were cool....

I've read a few things on Echo Chasm. First was that you have to beat the game as navi or rda. Then I read that you had to beat it on both navi and rda campaigns to get it. Last I heard you had to beat the game with 100% achievements. I'm not really positive which is true though. I'm gonna have to see what happens when I beat it with just the Navi side. The map ain't anything special, but it is a bit fun and good place to rack up experience points for the mini game.
I've beaten the game as Na'vi with 100% on every map multiple times. If I need to play against them too, then it seems I'll never unlock it and it will just have to be that way :(

The game is an interesting one, and a bit weird.

I like Pandora itself there, it has some really beautiful places, especially at night.
On the other hand, the story of the game is awful, and the acting is worse. While the levels are really nice, all the other graphics look like they come from an old console game, with bad models and worse textures. The main character is as generic as you can get and doesn't care about anything, and their attempt at a storyline with all the magic-type rubbish was really half-hearted and badly done, I would have much preferred if they had just left it out and had an excuse storyline like 'now you need to get rid of the marines over there' instead. There are other problems like the ridiculous number of humans in general, but that would be impossible to avoid in a game, so isn't quite as annoying.
i do admit the game story line is awful. i dont like the idea how its set 2 years before the movie. but dont judge the graphics till you play it in 3d. played it in 3d at home on ps3 was beutiful played it on my pc graphics were a little doggy and watched my mate play it on 360 on my 3d tv and the 3d was terrible all up i rekon its still a good play on ps3 and i really enjoyed playing it in 3d on ps3 really made me feel like i was at home

I use the 3D mode on my 50" plasma using the 360 console. It's incredible. Not sure why it was terrible on your mate's 360. Of course the graphics on the 360 aren't as crisp and clear as the PC or maybe the PS3, but the WOW and pop-out factor was insane. Felt like I was actually in the game.

You could try with another profile. The message that Echo Chasm is unlocked is quite random.
After a bit of searching, some people have said the intention is to gain XP there - I've always managed to finish the game with everything unlocked. Maybe you need to be able to gain more to get it - I'll have to try and do that.

I played through again, I tried to gain as little XP as I could, had a decent bit missing when I completed it, and nothing. Looking at a youtube video again, someone said it might be the collector's edition that has it - which version of the game do you have, and what level is it patched to?

Edit: Did you complete the human storyline? I've seen one comment saying that unlocks it, but I haven't done that as I don't particularly want to... :(

I'll try to answer your questions HNM as best I can.

Right well I'm pretty shocked that even after you did all that work that you didn't get it. I have the Standard Edition on Steam so I don't have the special edition. Also I have never player the RDA campaign. Although sometimes Advent has a different save file with the RDA campaign and he's normally finished it. So I suppose you could try the RDA campaign (Maybe get someone else to do it) ;)

What level Echo Chasm is patched to: Well I'm not entirely sure what you mean here but you get to choose the level from the Ikran trainers ie when you fly to different locations.

I too have the standard version and special edition. Right now I am on my way of completing the navi campaign on the PC and I will see if it unlocks or not. If not, then I'll play the RDA and see what that does.
