Avatar 2 Official Teaser Trailer

Just went to see it in the movie theater this morning. Sure it's short and doesn't reveal all too much, but that's somewhat the point :)

Reservations about the direction of the plot aside, it definitely made me hopeful for the sequel and it will be an incredible experience to return to Pandora later this year. Will be sure to share more thoughts here once it has some time to sink in, but definitely was an emotional experience already!

My son just expressed interest in seeing Doctor Strange, so I'll soon have a chance to experience the trailer theatrically. Woo hoo! (I'm sure the experience can only be improved by having candy and a big drink.)

The Academy Award for Best Visual Effects is certainly in the bag already. Damn. Those faces! I've got my plot reservations also, but then I keep telling myself that they were deliberately ambiguous with this trailer and I shouldn't extrapolate too wildly. Which is hard.

Onward to the next trailer! (Please!)

Yeah, we did the approach of getting Doctor Strange tickets, going in and watching the trailer, and then just walking out :D

I found the teaser hinted the Omaticaya and Metkayina are butting heads and that it will come to a head in a violent battle in the ocean. Since Jake has to leave his original tribe's care in someone's hands while he and his family are gone, it is possible this leader will turn out to be corrupt and is secretly working with the RDA to get rid of them in order to obtain permanent leadership. In turn, the RDA can have all the unobtanium they want. The Omaticaya are manipulated by him into attacking Jake's new tribe whom he will likely come to befriend. This could force him and Neytiri to fight against them. It was stated there would be bad Na'vi after all. A Na'vi working for the enemy in secret would be the perfect way to do it.

I almost wish there would be a pretty minimal precense of humans in general, although that seems unlikely to be the case based on what we know so far. I do wonder if the emphasis is going to be on the RDA as an organization or more general than that, though!

Here is a video of the Sully family set to the teaser trailer song. I enjoyed the clips of the kids so much that I just had to make a video with them and their parents. There are clips from the first movie.

I just watched the trailer. Oh my God! It's hard to describe, but for a moment it was like a trip to another world!
Yes!

Exactly what originally drew me to Avatar 1, and also why I wasn’t depressed seeing it as opposed to others who wished it were real, watching the movie felt like I actually had escaped to Pandora for a few hours. This trailer brought back those feelings for me too, that’s what excites me the most.

Why do I get this feeling people will begin writing fics for Avatar: The Way of Water?

There's a lady who started writing Avatar fanfic soon after the movie release (first Chapter was released on Arpil 7, 2010). Here's the synopsis:

One Of The People: What would happen if Tsu'tey lived? What would Jake's status be then? What life would Tsu'tey lead among his people? Will he accept the new faces in his clan? What changes would he endure? The story accounts post-film as the remaining humans assimilate into Na'vi culture to live new lives and healing begins as the Omaticaya find their new home.

This is pretty much a run of the mill fanfic... except that she just released Chapter 64 (!!) on May 1st. I did read the first 20ish chapters back in the day and it was entertaining but the fact that she's still at it after 12 years is really impressive.

I think it's time to get back to reading short stories on this topic. It can be very interesting, especially with the upcoming premiere in mind. So far, I remember the depression after the first part and only the stories were able to fill that void:S

After all of these years, and now we have seen a new glimpse of Pandora, it's going to be an amazing ride, I do worry as to what has been the fate of the rest of the Omatikaya, and the tree of souls as it looks like the sawtute have a huge base(city?) Even with what looks like some elevated rail thing. Quaritch is going to continue to be the guy that I love to hate with the passion, all I know is I have to see the sequel with eylan as I know it is going to be intense. The feeling that I got just from the teaser kind of caught me off guard by how strong it was. Finally our time is here.

I just made a new Jake/Neytiri music video with clips from the teaser trailer to Avatar: The Way of Water along with that of the original movie. It is set to Miley Cyrus's "When I Look at You." It features the clip where Jake tells Neytiri their family is their fortress. It is possibly set the night before they depart the Omaticaya for the Metkayina.

It was an intense feeling for me as well...I didn't know what exactly I'd feel after so long, I assumed it would be epic but really didn't know until it happened. Can't wait to go back to Pandora. I also worry about our Omatikaya...I hope they continue on, in a new home tree and we spend time with them again during this journey.
